What should I do before handing the terminal to a client?

Before handing the terminal to your client, make sure that:

  • The application for an iCard Physical Terminal has been approved by iCard

Ensure that iCard accepts the business activity of this merchant and authorizes the merchant to accept card payments.

  • Check the device serial number

Compare the serial number entered in the Partners Portal with the serial number printed on the back of the terminal you are handing to the client.

  • SIM card is inserted

Make sure that the terminal has a SIM card inserted. This ensures that the device remains connected and can process transactions.

  • Prepare the terminal package

The package should include the terminal device, charger, the installation manual, and also the warranty terms and return policy provided by you as an iCard Intermediary and Reseller.

Important: Before handing the terminal to the merchant, we strongly recommend powering on the device to verify if it has been activated by us. Additionally, ensure that the POS software is updated to the latest version available. If a new update is found, the device will automatically start the update process. Please allow it to complete fully, then restart the terminal before giving it to the merchant. This will help prevent any future unnecessary issues related to software updates or connectivity problems.

You can check the terminal’s status in the iCard Partners Portal. Once it updates to ‘Activated’, this confirms that all necessary configurations are complete, and the client can start accepting card payments. You will also receive a system notification for any status updates.
